1949 Chevy 3100

This project started with a full frame off restoration. We replaced the damaged frame and added independent front suspension, rack and pinion steering, four wheel disc brakes, and a 9 inch rear end. We kept the patina on the truck, but did extensive body work to remove any rust before clear coating and polishing. We also completely reupholstered the interior and modified the original radio grill to support the EV instrumentation.

The battery pack has 16 cells from an original Tesla roadster, and the motor is a Dual AC-34 from HPEVS with two Curtis 1239e controllers. Performance isn't super quick, but it is at least as fast as it was when it started with the sad 70 year old 6 cylinder engine that it came with.
